“Feed the soil, not the plant” has long been a manta for organic farmers, and before conventional agriculture it was the only way to ensure good crops. But soils have to be able to eat what we are feeding them, and that’s where biology comes in. A healthy, active microbial population in the soil translates to good plant nutrition.
For this reason,
the soil is our chief concern. Using specific cultural
techniques that include compost, mulches and compost tea,
we work to restore and balance soil biology. This allows
for natural nutrient cycling in the soil which enables
full spectrum mineral nutrition, causing plants to be heathier.
Soil chemical tests also enable us to develop a site specific
plan for transitional organic fertilization that will achieve
optimal plant performance.
